On Friday, August 11, football teams of all ages from Smyrna, Riverdale, and Stewarts Creek joined together for the 2017 Jamboree at Stewarts Creek High School.

In round one, the ‘pee-wee’ varsity teams (ages 5-6) of Smyrna and Riverdale placed, kicking off the score at 20-0 with Smyrna in the lead. In round two, however, Riverdale had two touchdowns within the first 10 minutes of the 30-minute game. This round, for the 7 and 8-year-olds, ended with the score at 26-14.

Round three started the games for the 9 and 10-year-olds. Number 16 made two touchdowns for Smyrna within the first half and number 28 a touchdown in the last two minutes with a 55-yard run, bringing the score to 53-14. Round four brought the score to 66-26 and an end to the age group with Smyrna still in the lead.

Round five was the freshman round, switching to Stewarts Creek versus Riverdale. Stewarts Creek scored the only points this round and changed the score to 85-26. Round six continued the high school rounds with the Junior Varsity teams. The times were changed to four 12-minute quarters to finish out the game. Number 20 made a 40-yard touchdown for Stewarts Creek. The Varsity teams finished out the 2017 Jamboree with a score of 108-46, Stewarts Creek in the lead. However, they could not have done it without the amazing head-start given to them by Smyrna.
