Alexis Ott is one of the new Comprehensive Development Classroom (CDC) teachers here at Stewarts Creek High School; she is currently in her second year of teaching, having previously taught Special Education Math at Christiana Middle School.

She attended school for two years at Lee University and another two at MTSU for her graduate to get her degree in K-12 Special Education.  She tested to teach Mild-Moderate students (CDC students with less physical and medical needs) with an endorsement of grades 6-8 math.  She came to SCHS after it was recommended to her as a fabulous school by colleagues who have worked here before.  Ott is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio; she would like the student body to know that she is part of Red Hawk’s Best, a buddy system that pairs typically-developing students with CDC students to do non-academic activities.  Her favorite parts about being a teacher is that every day is different; in special education, she gets to know her students and their families very well and she enjoys making a difference for their adult lives.
