Over the years, prom has turned from a simple dance to an elaborate night involving hours of getting ready, eating food, and dancing. When prom starts to come around people will come up with unusual ways to ask someone to go with them. Here are just a few of the ways people have asked others to go to prom with them. (you can also get ideas to use on someone next year)

For the food lovers…

  1. “I’ve never asked anyone to PROM before, so I’m just going to WING it. Will you go to prom with me?” You put that on a to-go box of wings from their favorite wing place and give it to them!
  2. People have also been creative with condiments by writing “PROM?” on different foods such as burgers or burger buns.
  3. There is also the way you can organize the food to spell out “PROM?”. You could use donuts, tacos, waffles, or pretty much any food they love.

For the expensive promposals…

  1. You can buy shoes, charms, or necklaces that spell out what you want it to say. (to add more significance, you could put the date somewhere too)
  2. You can take them on a trip to the beach or even somewhere not far away, like a picnic. You can then find a way to spell out “PROM?” depending on where you are at. For example, if you are at the beach, the sand or shells would be a perfect way to spell it out.
  3. If you must buy a bulk of something to spell out what you want to say, it could be expensive depending on what it is. A cheap go-to could be flowers, but a more expensive thing would be a bunch of candy, CDs, movies, etc.

For the creative ones…

  1. You can get many people to participate and go to the football stadium so everyone will be able to spell out “PROM?” with any colored balloons or paper.
  2. You can give the person you are going to ask a puzzle or scavenger hunt to solve that will ask them the question for you.
  3. Go old school and make a poster with a creative pun that goes with the theme of an inside joke or if you are giving them something along with the poster!
